Your thoughts control and create your life from the health and wellbeing of your physical body, your everyday experiences and your spiritual evolution. The cells of your body are affected by your thoughts, beliefs, perceptions and stresses. Every thought you have created from your birth to now as well as the beliefs of your parents, ancestors and society are carried by you daily within your cells. Without even knowing it you are projecting all of these beliefs into your reality to be experienced by you and to attract the same into your life to verify your beliefs and who you believe yourself to be. What you believe to be facts about yourself and your reality simply began as a thought in your mind which was energised and experienced in your reality therefore confirmed to you as the truth.
Your beliefs are stored within your subconscious mind which is below the level of your conscious awareness. Your subconscious forms 95% of your consciousness and therefore influences your actions, reactions, moods, attitudes, values, relationships, success, communication skills, healing ability, monetary abundance, family, abilities, self-image, body weight, spiritual connection and evolution. In truth a large majority of the life you experience daily. Your conscious mind is only able to remain focused for approximately 20 seconds at a time, therefore most of the time you are running on autopilot drawing from the beliefs of your subconscious mind.
From your birth to 7 years old your subconscious mind is like a sponge absorbing and creating beliefs from observing your parents, family members and friends, your experiences and the situations you find your in. Everything you observe or experience is recorded as data within your subconscious mind. After 7 years old you begin to think for yourself putting all the data you have absorbed into action. This means that if your childhood was joyous, peaceful, happy, without any negative experiences and without observing the limitations that others put upon themselves, then your adult reality would be pretty perfect as well. However, in the modern day this is very unlikely, it is more likely that you have observed and absorbed numerous limiting beliefs which you may not even see as limiting. Some examples are:
- ‘I must work hard in order to be successful in life.’ or ‘I can’t change my life.’
- ‘I don’t deserve to have good things in life.’ or ’I deserve to be punished.’
- ‘You have to look after yourself because no one else will.’
- ‘My body can’t be healed,’ or ‘I am fat, so were my parents so it is in my genes.’
- ‘I am going to grow old and lose my youthful looks,’ or ‘I am getting old.’
- ‘I am separate from God/Creator/Divine,’ or ‘I am not worthy of seeing/hearing or sensing my guides.’
- ‘Everyone else’s spiritual abilities are so much better than mine.’
- Most adults are living from the subconscious beliefs of your 7-year-old self!
Of course you do have positive beliefs stored within the database of your subconscious mind, these support success and joy in your life, however sometimes a conflict can occur within you which is when you have accepted two opposing beliefs. For Example: Positive: ‘I love myself.’ Negative: ‘I hate myself.’ These two simple beliefs mean that sometimes you will be loving and supportive of yourself and other times you will be mean and hurtful to yourself. This can cause chaos and further pain as you swing between one and the other.
Observe Your Thoughts
It is a wonderful idea to observe your thoughts as you go about your daily life or even just for a moment.
What are you thinking about? What do you always focus on? What do you worry about? What do you say to yourself over and over again? You may be surprised by the negative beliefs you are running through your mind constantly. It is unfortunate that what you think of most becomes your reality.
